Each year, floods are connected to thousands of deaths and billions in losses, thus setting back numerous development projects. What is more, social economic disparity, global warming, rapid urbanization, and climate change are posing more vulnerabilities to floods. This calls for a proactive approach to combat this problem and establish a disaster risk strategy for safer and sustainable development.

This course is suitable for individuals working in the flood disaster risk management field. However, it is recommended that the following professionals attend: decision-makers, development and planning authorities, elected and appointed national and local administrators, officials in urban planning, public works, housing, water engineers and flood control professionals, and water resource and management.

Methodology

The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprises of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.

i. The participant must be conversant with English.

ii. Upon completion of training the participant will be issued with an Authorized Training Certificate

iii. Course duration is flexible and the contents can be modified to fit any number of days.
